In the hate crime statute, defines sexual orientation to also include transgender status. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. In the provision permitting the court to impose a more severe sentence upon a defendant who committed a crime against an individual or the individual's relatives, spouse, friends, or associates or their property because of the individual's actual or perceived sexual orientation, includes in the definition of sexual orientation, transgender status.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
