<reference>725 ILCS 5/115-16.1 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Provides that in a prosecution for first degree murder where the State has given notice of its intention to seek the death penalty, the prosecution must promptly notify the court and the defendant's attorney of the intention to introduce testimony at trial from a person who is in custody or who was in custody at the time of the factual matters to which the person will testify. Provides that the notice to the defendant's attorney must include the identification, criminal history, and background of the witness.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
