<reference>720 ILCS 5/9-1</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 38, par. 9-1</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that in a first degree murder case when the sentence of death is being sought by the State the court shall consider or shall instruct the jury to consider that the testimony of an accomplice or incarcerated informant who may provide evidence against the defendant for pay, immunity from punishment, or personal advantage must be examined with greater care than testimony of an ordinary witness.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
