<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>720 ILCS 5/9-1</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 38, par. 9-1</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that in a prosecution for first degree murder tried by a jury, if a statement of the defendant has been admitted into evidence and the statement has not been recorded, the court shall instruct the jury prior to its deliberation on the charge of the weight to be given to the statement and that an electronic recording that contains the defendant's actual voice or a statement written by the defendant is more reliable than a non-recorded summary.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
