<reference>55 ILCS 5/5-1022</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 34, par. 5-1022</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Counties Code. Provides that any purchase by a county with fewer than 2,000,000 inhabitants of services, materials, equipment, or supplies in excess of $20,000 (instead of $10,000) must be let by competitive bid. Provides that a county, by unanimous consent of the county board, may let, without advertising for bids, contracts for the use, purchase, delivery, movement, or installation of public safety equipment and related telecommunications and inter-connect equipment, software, and services. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Requires the consent of three-fourths of the members of the county board (instead of unanimous consent) before a county may let, without advertising for bids, certain contracts.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
