Requires a licensee to notify the Department of Agriculture of any change of address within 5 working days. Extends recognition to municipal inspection departments, but provides that establishments that are subject to State or federal inspection are exempt from municipal inspection. Makes changes concerning persons who are exempt from the Act. Makes changes concerning the authorization of an establishment to receive meat and poultry and meat and poultry products. Authorizes the Director of Agriculture and employees of the Department of Agriculture to call upon certain peace officers and elected officials for assistance in carrying out the provision of the Act. Removes a provision requiring the Director to annually increase the number of inspectors and veterinarians he or she employs through 2004. Removes a provisions requiring that fish and game be stored in conformity with the Fish and Aquatic Life Code and the Wildlife Code. Makes changes concerning official inspection legend, marking, and labeling provisions. Requires a State's Attorney to institute proceedings under the Act at the request of the Director of Agriculture. Provides that a person who forcibly assaults a person engaged in or on account of his or her official duties under the Act is guilty of a Class 3 felony.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
