Allows the board of trustees of a fire protection district to fix, charge, and collect fees, not exceeding the reasonable cost of the service, from the State arising from the district's response to emergency calls at State highway and Interstate highway rest areas that are not located on a toll highway within the State. Provides that claims shall be filed with the Court of Claims.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Judicial Note (Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>House Bill 2284 would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the state.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Fiscal Note (State Fire Marshal)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Assuming charges of $125 per hour per vehicle, $35 per hour per firefighter (with a minimum of 4 firefighters per vehicle) and reimbursement for extraordinary expenses for materials, such charges would be at least $265 per hour per incident.  State costs for emergency medical response reimbursements could be lowered by any amounts received by districts from insurance providers.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
