Specifies that, when a new downstate firefighter pension fund is created for firefighters previously under IMRF, the affected firefighters receive creditable service in the new pension fund for service credits transferred from IMRF to the new pension fund. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Pension Note (Pension Laws Commission)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>There would be no fiscal impact associated with HB 508, as it merely provides the statutory authority to transfer service credit from IMRF to an Article 4 pension fund, when the employer is required to establish an Article 4 fund.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
