<reference>105 ILCS 5/3-14.20</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 122, par. 3-14.20</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the School Code. Provides that within 10 business days after the regional superintendent of schools receives school building plans and specifications from a school board and prior to the bidding process, the regional superintendent shall notify the municipality (or county in an unincorporated area) and, if applicable, the fire protection district where the school is being constructed or altered that the plans and specifications have been submitted. Allows local fire, building, and plumbing inspectors to review the plans and specifications. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Removes a provision that provides that in the case of Cook County, references to the regional superintendent of schools shall be deemed to refer to the intermediate service center for the district. Deletes current law with regard to the local fire department or fire protection district where the school is being constructed or altered being allowed to request a review of the plans and specifications.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Floor Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>

Requires the State Board of Education to adopt rules for the documentation of inspections and reviews of school facilities and to convene a task force for the purpose of reviewing these documents and making recommendations regarding training and accreditation of individuals with respect to school facilities. In a Section requiring school building plans and specifications to be approved by the regional superintendent of schools, removes the provision allowing the local fire department or fire protection district to request a review of the plans and specifications. Provides for review of the plans and specifications by a municipality, fire protection district, or county.
