When a municipal fire department is discontinued and the affected territory is annexed by a fire protection district, provides for transfer of the assets and liabilities of the municipality's firefighters' pension fund to the pension fund of the fire protection district. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Pension Note (Pension Laws Commission)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>The fiscal impact of HB 407 cannot be determined, but is estimated to be minor, as the number of funds that would be affected by the draft is probably very small. There may be a fiscal impact to the pension funds of the fire protection districts, as the liabilities transferred to that fund would probably be greater than the transferred assets.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
