<reference>305 ILCS 5/5-5.4</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 23, par. 5-5.4</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. In provisions concerning Medicaid payments to nursing homes, provides that on and after July 1, 2003, the appropriation for facilities participating in the Department of Public Aid's demonstration program for providing services to persons with mental illness shall be separate from the appropriation for all other nursing homes. Limits the rates for a facility participating in the demonstration program to no more than 7% of the facility's audited adjustment cost. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Fiscal Note (Department of Public Aid)</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>The estimated annual savings as a result of the 7% limitation is $12 million. The $12 million is 100% funded by State dollars.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
