Requires a comprehensive health education program to include instruction in secondary schools on clinical depression and suicide prevention.Fiscal Note (Illinois State Board of Education) ISBE believe that nearly all high schools currently provide some instructional materials and activities in this area. The cost of incorporating additional materials into that instruction would be negligible.State Mandates Fiscal Note (Illinois State Board of Education) While House Bill 55 clearly creates a state mandate, state reimbursement appears to be unnecessary because the requirement merely imposes additional duties of a nature which can be carried out by existing staff and procedures at no appreciable net cost increase.
