| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Roberta |
| 4 | | Wilson; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roberta Wilson came to Chicago from Thomson, |
| 6 | | Georgia as part of the Second Great Migration of Black |
| 7 | | Americans in 1946, taking a job in the Hotel Bismarck as a |
| 8 | | member of Local 46 Laundry Workers Union; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Roberta Wilson later worked in education as a |
| 10 | | member of the Professional and School Related Personnel (PSRP) |
| 11 | | team in Chicago Public Schools, devoting her time and talents |
| 12 | | to the young people of Austin High School, John Hay Community |
| 13 | | Academy, Charles Sumner Math and Science Community Academy, |
| 14 | | Bernhard Moos Elementary School, and Schubert Elementary |
| 15 | | School; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, After retiring from Chicago Public Schools |
| 17 | | following nearly 40 years of service, Roberta Wilson remained |
| 18 | | a dedicated member of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), |
| 19 | | serving as sergeant at arms at every CTU House of Delegates |
| 20 | | meeting; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Roberta Wilson was a devoted member of Third |
