HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Brother
4Patrick Michael Martin, C.F.C., who passed away on June 21,
52026; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Brother Martin was born in Chicago on August 17,
71954; he was raised in St. Adrian's Parish and graduated from
8Leo High School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Brother Martin, an Edmund Rice Christian for 51
10years, dedicated his life to Catholic education, serving
11students in California, Washington, Arizona, Michigan, New
12York, and across the Chicago area at Leo High School from 1977
13to 1979, St. Laurence High School from 1983 to 1987, and
14Brother Rice High School from 1994 to 2009; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Brother Martin, while teaching at Brother Rice
16High School, served as a math and religion teacher, director
17of the APEX program, and one of the founders of the Edmund Rice
18Camp at Rice; he gave the Catholic institution 15 years of his
19life while making a lasting impact on every student he taught
20and every program he helped build; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Brother Martin will be remembered for his life,

1his faith, and his service; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Brother Martin was preceded in death by his
3parents, Peter and Dolores, and his sister, Lorraine; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Brother Martin is survived by his siblings, Peter
5and Therese, and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn the passing of Brother Patrick Michael Martin, C.F.C.
9and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and
10all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Brother Martin as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
