HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth
4Louis Morgan Sr., who passed away on June 13, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was born in Chicago on November
627, 1961, the youngest of four children born to Paul and Louise
7Morgan, and raised in Chicago's Englewood community; he
8attended John P. Altgeld Elementary School and graduated from
9Chicago Vocational High School; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was a dedicated lifelong learner
11and pursued higher education at Prairie View A&M University in
12Prairie View, Texas and Western Illinois University in Macomb
13before earning a Master of Arts in Psychology from Chicago
14State University in 1999; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan's faith was important to him, and
16he lived according to the principles of peace, love, honesty,
17joy, hope, and compassion, serving as an example to those
18around him through his character and actions; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan met Kimberly in 1986, the woman
20who would become his lifelong partner and best friend; after
21years of building a strong foundation of love, commitment, and

1friendship, they were united in marriage in 2000 and together
2raised three sons, Walter, Kenneth Jr., and Anthony; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan dedicated his professional life to
4serving others and strengthening his community; he served as
5an administrative assistant to an elected official in
6Chicago's 16th Ward and later devoted 28 years of
7distinguished service to the University of Illinois Chicago,
8where he was respected for his professionalism, integrity,
9knowledge, and unwavering commitment to students, faculty,
10staff, and the institution's mission; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was affectionately known as
12"Biscuit" and found great joy in sports, particularly football
13and basketball, and treasured time spent with his family,
14friends, and grandchildren, creating memories that will be
15cherished for generations; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan leaves behind a legacy of faith,
17perseverance, service, and devotion to family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was preceded in death by his
19parents and his siblings, Anthony, Anita, and Paul Morgan; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan is survived by his beloved wife,
21Kimberly Morgan; his sons, Kenneth (Carla) Jr., Anthony

1(Jasmine), and Walter Morgan; his grandchildren, Taylor,
2Kenneth III, Kamille, and Aniylah (Josiah); and numerous
3brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended
4family members, friends, and the many faculty, staff,
5students, and colleagues whose lives he touched through the
6University of Illinois Chicago Cooperative Extension Service,
7Urban Health Program, College of Medicine, and College of
8Applied Health Sciences; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Kenneth Louis Morgan Sr. and extend our
12sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and
13all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Kenneth Morgan as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
