| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Prevailing Wage Act is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 1 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 1. It is the the policy of the State of Illinois that |
| 8 | | a wage of no less than the general prevailing hourly rate as |
| 9 | | paid for work of a similar character in the locality in which |
| 10 | | the work is performed, shall be paid to all laborers, workers |
| 11 | | and mechanics employed by or on behalf of any and all public |
| 12 | | bodies engaged in public works. |
