AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1960




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1960, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment 
4No. 2, by replacing line 16 on page 17 through line 2 on page 
518 with the following:
6    "Sec. 11-1518. Low-speed electric scooters.
7    (a) Subject to the restrictions of this Section, a 
8municipality, park district, forest preserve district, or 
9conservation district may authorize and regulate the operation 
10of low-speed electric scooters within the unit of local 
11government on any or all highways under their respective 
12jurisdiction, sidewalks, trails, or other public right of way 
13where the operation of bicycles is permitted. The use of 
14low-speed electric scooters within any municipality, park 
15district, forest preserve district, or conservation district 
16is allowed only if authorized by the municipality, park 
17district, forest preserve district, or conservation district 
18under this Section. Any authorization or regulation by a park

1district, forest preserve district, or conservation district 
2applies only on property owned, managed, or leased by the park 
3district, forest preserve district, or conservation district. 
4"; and
 
5on page 19, immediately below line 19, by inserting the 
6following:
7    "(m) Every low-speed electric scooter shall be 
8well-maintained and in good operating condition.".
