Provides that, to encourage youth voter participation, each high school in the State shall hold at least 2 nonpartisan voter registration days per year: (i) one nonpartisan voter registration day shall be held on the second Tuesday in October or the first day thereafter that school is in session; and (ii) the other shall be held on the second Tuesday in February or the first day thereafter that school is in session. |

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning elections. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 1A-60 as follows: |
| 6 | | (10 ILCS 5/1A-60) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1A-60. High school voter registration. |
| 8 | | (a) The State Board of Elections shall prepare a one page |
| 9 | | document explaining the process to register to vote to be |
| 10 | | disseminated to high school age students. Every high school |
| 11 | | must provide students with that document, which may be |
| 12 | | disseminated electronically. |
| 13 | | (b) No high school may prohibit nonpartisan voter |
| 14 | | registration activities on its premises. A high school may |
| 15 | | adopt reasonable regulations restricting nonpartisan voter |
| 16 | | registration activities. |
| 17 | | (c) To encourage youth voter participation, each high |
