| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 22-100 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 22-100. Prohibition on physical discipline in |
| 8 | | nonpublic schools. A nonpublic school may not engage in |
| 9 | | slapping or paddling a student, the prolonged maintenance of a |

| 11 | | infliction of bodily harm on a student. |
