| Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that a person who is under 18 years of age immediately prior to the opening date of the youth season and who possesses a Youth Turkey Hunt Permit may take wild turkey in any county of the State. Provides that a person who possesses a Youth Turkey Hunt Permit does not have to obtain any other county license or permit to take wild turkey in the State. |

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 2.10 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 2.10. The Department may, on an annual basis, |
| 8 | | establish a spring wild turkey open season within the period |
| 9 | | beginning on March 1 and running through May 31, and a fall |
| 10 | | wild turkey season within the period beginning on October 1 |
| 11 | | and running through January 31. The Department may, on an |
| 12 | | annual basis, establish a youth-only spring wild turkey season |
| 13 | | which shall include 2 consecutive weekends. A person who is |
| 14 | | under 18 years of age immediately prior to the opening date of |
| 15 | | the youth season and who possesses a Youth Turkey Hunt Permit |
| 16 | | may take wild turkey in any county of this State. A person who |
| 17 | | possesses a Youth Turkey Hunt Permit does not have to obtain |
| 18 | | any other county license or permit to take wild turkey in this |
| 19 | | State. It shall be unlawful for any person to take wild turkey |
| 20 | | without possessing a valid "Wild Turkey Hunting Permit". |
| 21 | | Persons holding a spring permit may take female wild turkeys |
| 22 | | with visible beards or male wild turkeys during the spring |
