AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4149 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4149 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by 
5adding Section 12-4.35a as follows:
 
6    (305 ILCS 5/12-4.35a new)
7    Sec. 12-4.35a. Family planning services; people of all 
8immigration statuses. The Department of Healthcare and Family 
9Services shall provide persons lawfully admitted for permanent 
10residence under the Immigration and Nationality Act and other 
11people of all immigration statuses the same medical coverage 
12for family planning and family planning-related services and 
13supplies as provided under Article V of this Code to eligible 
14persons who are United States citizens. To be eligible for 
15family planning and related services under this Section, 
16lawful permanent residents or other people of all immigration

1statuses must meet all other eligibility qualifications under 
2the HFS Family Planning Program established in accordance with 
3Illinois' Family Planning State Plan Amendment as approved by 
4the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The 
5Department shall not require lawful permanent residents or 
6other people of all immigration statuses who are otherwise 
7eligible for family planning and related services under this 
8Section to complete a mandatory waiting period as a condition 
9of receiving medical coverage under this Section.".
