| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is |
| 5 | | amended by adding Section 54 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 3605/54 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 54. Transportation for youth programs and services. |
| 8 | | The Authority shall, no later than July 1, 2024, establish a |
| 9 | | program, similar to the U-Pass program, for allowing persons |
| 10 | | 18 or younger to use the Authority's buses and trains for |
| 11 | | transportation to youth programs or youth services.

| 12 | | Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding |
| 13 | | Section 8.47 as follows:
|
| 14 | | (30 ILCS 805/8.47 new) |
| 15 | | Sec. 8.47. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 and |
| 16 | | 8 of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required for |
| 17 | | the implementation of any mandate created by this amendatory |
| 18 | | Act of the 103rd General Assembly.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
