Amends the Public Community College Act. Provides that, beginning with the 2023-2024 academic year and subject to approval, each community college within Chicago must offer a program in nursing. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 7-28 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 805/7-28 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 7-28. Nursing program. Beginning with the 2023-2024 |
| 8 | | academic year and subject to approval by the State Board and |
| 9 | | the Board of Higher Education, each community college within |
| 10 | | the community college district must offer a program in |
| 11 | | nursing.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law.
