<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>705 ILCS 5/11</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 37, par. 16</aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Supreme Court Act. Provides that the office of marshal for the Supreme Court may also employ court security officers to be responsible for maintaining the security of any courthouse or courtroom occupied by the Supreme Court or Appellate Court of this State. Subjects such a court security officer hired by the marshal to the same training requirements and arrest powers as a court security officer hired by a county sheriff. Provides that the arrest powers of the court security officer are limited to the performance of the official duties of the court security officer. Provides that a court security officer who is trained and qualified as permitted by law may carry a weapon at his or her place of employment and to and from his or her place of employment. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
