| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public aid.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 12-4.13c as follows:
|
| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/12-4.13c new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 12-4.13c. SNAP; online grocery shopping. The |
| 8 | | Department of Human Services shall seek approval from the |
| 9 | | United States Department of Agriculture to participate in the |
| 10 | | federal SNAP Online Purchasing Pilot program to enable |
| 11 | | recipients of benefits provided under the Supplemental |
| 12 | | Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to use their SNAP benefits |
| 13 | | to purchase groceries from eligible online grocery retailers. |
| 14 | | Upon federal approval, the Department shall enter into an |
| 15 | | agreement with any online grocery retailer that is eligible to |
| 16 | | participate in the federal SNAP Online Purchasing Pilot program |
| 17 | | and may adopt any rules necessary to implement this Section.
