AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3581




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3581 as follows:


 
3on page 1, by replacing lines 18 and 19 with the following:
4"for at least 2 years or, at some point during the last 5 
5years, worked in such a setting for the equivalent of 2 
6years."; and
 
7on page 1, by replacing line 21 with the following:

8"accredited degree program administered solely through an 
9Illinois-based, not-for-profit organization or through a 
10public institution through which a child"; and
 
11on page 2, line 11, by replacing "scholarships" with 
12"scholarship"; and
 


13on page 2, by replacing line 16 with the following:

14    "(b) Beginning with the 2020-2021 academic year, subject to

1appropriation, the"; and

 
2on page 2, by replacing line 20 with the following:

3"from a public institution or an online early childhood degree

8by replacing line 25 on page 3 through line 1 on page 4 with the

10"undergraduate tuition rate for Illinois residents."; and

 
11on page 4, by replacing lines 2 through 7 with the following:
12        "(5) A student is eligible for a grant and any grant 
13    renewals until he or she has earned a bachelor's degree or 
14    a Professional Educator License.
15    (c) In awarding grants under this Section, if, in any 
16fiscal year, the amount appropriated for the grants is less 
17than the amount determined necessary to cover the cost of 
18attendance for all eligible applicants, then the Commission 
19must proportionately reduce the grants accordingly."; and
