| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 27-23.13 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/27-23.13 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 27-23.13. Hunting safety. A school district may offer |
| 8 | | its students a course on hunting safety as part of its |
| 9 | | curriculum during the school day or as part of an after-school |
| 10 | | program. The State Board of Education may prepare and make |
| 11 | | available to school boards resources on hunting safety that may |
| 12 | | be used as guidelines for the development of a course under |
| 13 | | this Section.

| 14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 15 | | 2019.
