AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2618 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2618 as follows:


 
3on page 1, line 5, by replacing "Section 3-609.1" with 
4"Sections 3-609.1 and 3-621"; and
 
5on page 2, immediately below line 18, by inserting the 
6following:
 



7    "(625 ILCS 5/3-621)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-621)



8    Sec. 3-621. The Secretary, upon receipt of an application, 
9made in the
form prescribed by the Secretary of State, may 
10issue to Illinois residents who are current members, former 
11members, or surviving spouses of former
members of the Illinois

12National Guard, or the National Guard of any other State, the 
13Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or Washington, D.C. and to 
14Illinois residents who are either former members of
the 
15Illinois National Guard or the surviving spouses of
Illinois

1National Guard members, special registration plates.  The 
2special
plates issued
pursuant to this Section shall be affixed 
3only to passenger vehicles of
the first division, motorcycles, 
4or motor vehicles of the second division
weighing not
more than 
58,000 pounds subject to the staggered registration system.

6    The design and color of such plates shall be wholly within 
7the discretion of
the Secretary of State. The Secretary may, in 
8his or her discretion, allow the plates to be issued as vanity 
9or personalized plates in accordance with Section 3-405.1 of 
10this Code.
