| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 9 as follows:
|

The
The Department of Natural Resources shall |
| 8 | | carefully investigate any
and all complaints that may be made |
| 9 | | that any person, company or corporation
is attempting to |
| 10 | | interfere with the free and unobstructed navigation of any
of |
| 11 | | the public bodies of water of the State, and if it finds that |
| 12 | | the
complaint is well founded, the Department shall enter such |
| 13 | | order as may be
required to prevent wrongful interference with |
| 14 | | such navigation. |
