| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3186 on page 145, | ||||||
| 3 | line 6, by changing "and" to ". A public body that investigates | ||||||
| 4 | and ascertains the prevailing rate of wages pursuant to this | ||||||
| 5 | Section shall and"; and
| ||||||
| 6 | on page 145, by replacing lines 9 through 11 with the | ||||||
| 7 | following: | ||||||
| 8 | "rate of wage and shall promptly file, no later than July 15 of
| ||||||
| 9 | each year, a certified copy thereof
in the office of the
| ||||||
| 10 | Illinois Department of Labor."; and | ||||||
| 11 | by replacing lines 12 through 26 on page 146 and lines 1 | ||||||
| 12 | through 4 on page 147 with the following: | ||||||
| 13 | "A The public body that investigates and ascertains the | ||||||
| 14 | prevailing rate of wages pursuant to this Section, except for | ||||||
| 15 | the Department of Transportation with
respect to highway | ||||||
| 16 | contracts, shall within 30 days after filing with the | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Department of Labor, or the Department of Labor shall within 30 | ||||||
| 2 | days
after filing with such public body, publish in a newspaper | ||||||
| 3 | of general
circulation within the area that the determination | ||||||
| 4 | is effective, a
notice of its determination and shall promptly | ||||||
| 5 | mail a copy of its
determination to any employer, and to any | ||||||
| 6 | association of employers and
to any person or association of | ||||||
| 7 | employees who have filed their names and
addresses, requesting | ||||||
| 8 | copies of any determination stating the particular
rates and | ||||||
| 9 | the particular class of workers whose wages will be affected
by | ||||||
| 10 | such rates. If the Department of Labor ascertains the | ||||||
| 11 | prevailing rate of wages for a public body, the public body may | ||||||
| 12 | satisfy the newspaper publication requirement in this | ||||||
| 13 | paragraph by posting on the public body's website a notice of | ||||||
| 14 | its determination with a hyperlink to the prevailing wage | ||||||
| 15 | schedule for that locality that is published on the official | ||||||
| 16 | website of the Department of Labor.".
