HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Goreville High School 
4boys basketball team, the Blackcats, on their historic 
52017-2018 season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Blackcats earned a birth in the 2018 Illinois 
7High School Association Class 1A Boys State Basketball 
8Tournament, their first in school history; they finished with 
9an impressive run in the tournament, making it to the Final 
10Four; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Blackcats concluded their regular season with 
12a record of 23 wins and 13 losses; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Blackcats were the Sesser-Valier Holiday  
14Tournament Champions, the Meridian Regional Champions, the 
15Hardin County Sectional Champions, and the Carbondale (SIU) 
16Super-Sectional Champions; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The Blackcats are coached by Head Coach Todd Tripp 
18and Assistant Coaches Alex Fischer and Gary Glidewell; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Blackcats are Luke Brown, Peyton Geyman, 
20Peyton Massey, Braden Webb, Morgan Bishop, Kanon Webb,  Raymond

1Lewis, Logyn Frassato, Cole Tosh, Tanner Dunn, Logan Hankins, 
2Trent Glidewell, Connor Johnson, Rhet Schuetz, Landon 
3Albright, and Zane Schuetz, Manager; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the Goreville High School boys basketball team, 
7the Blackcats, on their historic 2017-2018 season, and we wish 
8them many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
10presented to the Blackcats as a symbol of our respect and 
11esteem.
