<reference>625 ILCS 5/6-205</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>625 ILCS 5/6-206</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>625 ILCS 5/11-501.01</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that for offenses committed before January 1, 2017, the Secretary of State shall require the use of ignition interlock devices for a period of not less than 5 years on all vehicles owned by a person who has been convicted of a second or subsequent offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, other drug or drugs, intoxicating compound or compounds, or any combination thereof or a similar provision of a local ordinance. Provides that for offenses committed on or after January 1, 2017, the Secretary shall require the use of ignition interlock devices for a period of not less than 5 years on all vehicles owned by a person who has been convicted of a second or subsequent offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, other drug or drugs, intoxicating compound or compounds, or any combination thereof or a similar provision of a local ordinance or out-of-state offense, Section 9-3 of the Criminal Code of 1961 or the Criminal Code of 2012 in which the use of alcohol or other drugs is recited as an element of the offense or a similar out-of-state offense, or a combination of these offenses arising out of separate occurrences, if that person is issued a restricted driving permit.
