SECTION 312.160 TUITION AND FEE WAIVER PROGRAM DESCRIPTION


 

Section 312.160  Tuition and Fee Waiver Program Description

 

a)         The Tuition and Fee Waiver Program provides recipients with a waiver for tuition and fees to support their post-secondary education at any college or university maintained by the State.

 

b)         Eligible applicants will receive tuition and fee waivers for the first five years they are enrolled full-time in a college or university maintained by the State, and are continuing to work toward graduation and completion of a certificate or degree as set forth in Section 312.110.

 

c)         The Tuition and Fee Waiver Program does not include coverage for room, board, or dormitory fees. Recipients are responsible for these expenses, as well as any additional costs not covered by the waivers.

 

d)         The Department shall assist recipients to access financial supports that may be available to the recipient through other programs administered by the Department.

 

e)         The community college or public university that an applicant attends must waive any tuition and fee amounts that exceed the amounts paid to the applicant under the State's Monetary Award Program. [20 ILCS 505/8(b)]
