| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3115 as follows:

| 3 | | on page 2, line 9, by replacing "secular" with "selected"; and

| 4 | | on page 2, line 10, after "textbooks.", by inserting "The |
| 5 | | textbooks authorized to be purchased under this Section are |
| 6 | | limited without exception to textbooks that have been |
| 7 | | preapproved and designated by the State Board of Education for |
| 8 | | use in any public school and that are secular, non-religious, |
| 9 | | and non-sectarian. The State Board of Education shall annually |
| 10 | | publish a list of the textbooks authorized to be purchased |
| 11 | | under this Section."; and

| 12 | | on page 2, line 18, after "Section", by inserting "and to |
| 13 | | ensure the religious neutrality of the textbook block grant |
| 14 | | program, as well as provide for the monitoring of all textbooks |
