| AN ACT concerning local government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 5-25026 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (55 ILCS 5/5-25026 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 5-25026. Locally grown foods. The board of health of a |
| 8 |
| county or multi-county health department may not discourage the |
| 9 |
| purchase or consumption of locally grown foods in relation to |
| 10 |
| foods that are not locally grown.
|
| 11 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 12 |
| becoming law.
