| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate the Crystal Lake South High School boys soccer |
| 4 | | team, the Gators, on winning the 2023 Illinois High School |
| 5 | | Association (IHSA) Class 2A State Championship; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Gators defeated Peoria Notre Dame High School |
| 7 | | by a score of 2 to 1 on November 4, 2023 at Hoffman Estates |
| 8 | | High School, winning their second championship in five years; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Gators won their 2nd straight Fox Valley |
| 11 | | Conference title, the 14th in school history, their 6th |
| 12 | | straight IHSA Regional title, the 12th in school history, |
| 13 | | their 3rd IHSA Sectional title, and their 3rd IHSA Super |
| 14 | | Sectional title; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, The Gators compiled a record of 22 wins, 4 |
| 16 | | losses, and 1 tie on their way to the championship, and these |
| 17 | | 22 wins tie the school record for wins in a season; the team |
| 18 | | also achieved the 2nd most shutouts in school history with 14 |
| 19 | | and the 2nd most consecutive wins in school history with 12; |
| 20 | | and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, The Gators are led by Head Coach Brian Allen and |
