| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Ronnie Joe Reiher of Carlinville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 24, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher was born to Harold and Wanda Caudle |
| 6 | | Reiher in Litchfield on January 8, 1951; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Carlinville High School in 1969 and served in the Army |
| 8 | | National Guard in Springfield from 1969 to 1977; he married |
| 9 | | Cindy Vance on November 11, 1977, and they later divorced; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher began his career in law enforcement |
| 11 | | as a part-time police officer at the Carlinville Police |
| 12 | | Department in March 1975, moving to a full time position in |
| 13 | | December 1977; he served as police chief from September 1988 |
| 14 | | to May 1997; he continued to serve on the Carlinville Police |
| 15 | | Department until his retirement on May 3, 2011; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his adult life, Ronnie Reiher always |
| 17 | | looked forward to the spring and harvest seasons when he spent |
| 18 | | quality time with his best friend, Denny Joe Bouillon, while |
| 19 | | farming; in the summers, he loved cooking his famous fish |
| 20 | | sandwiches at the county fair alongside his son; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher was preceded in death by his |
