| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Marilyn J. Standley of Springfield, |
| 4 | | who passed away on March 3, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley was born to Earl J. and Rhoda |
| 6 | | Mae (Dowdell) McMillen in Taylorville on August 30, 1952; she |
| 7 | | graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1970 and went on to |
| 8 | | graduate from Hardin Business School; she later earned |
| 9 | | continuing education credits in accounting at Lincoln Land |
| 10 | | Community College; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley worked as a bookkeeper in the |
| 12 | | Jacksonville City Clerk's Office for many years; she later |
| 13 | | worked as a claims processor, service representative, and |
| 14 | | trainer for BlueCross BlueShield; she moved to Springfield to |
| 15 | | work for the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in 2011, |
| 16 | | where she worked until her passing; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley was preceded in death by her |
| 18 | | parents and her sister, Diana Ahrens; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley is survived by her ex-husband, |
| 20 | | Edward Standley; her sons, Michael (Joy) Standley and David |
| 21 | | (April) Standley; her grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Joshua, |
