HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Metamora Township 
4High School boys basketball team, the Redbirds, on winning the 
5Illinois High School Association 2022-23 Class 3A State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Redbirds defeated Simeon Career Academy of 
8Chicago in the championship game by a score of 46 to 41 in 
9overtime; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Redbirds shared the overall number one 
11ranking with Simeon; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Redbirds compiled a record of 34 wins and 2 
13losses and an undefeated conference record of 14 wins and 0 
14losses on their way to the championship; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Redbirds are coached by Danny Grieves,
Justin 
16Dehm,
Mike Brockhouse,
Patrick Vaughan,
Jordan Dehm, and
Jake 
17Springer; the athletic director is Jared Hart, and the team 
18managers are Nick Sprout and Dru Grieves; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The members of the Redbirds are Sam Begole, Briar 
20Cremeens, Devin Dunn, Avery Grebner, Ashton Grieves, Kaden

1Hartnett, Jack Hessing, Luke Hopp, Ethan Kizer, Tyler Mason, 
2Kendrick Schaffrin, Tyson Swanson, Drew Tucker, Nick Walker,

5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate the Metamora Township High School boys 
8basketball team, the Redbirds, on winning the Illinois High 
9School Association 2022-23 Class 3A State Championship, and we 
10wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12presented to the coaches and players of the Metamora Township 
13High School boys basketball team as a symbol of our respect and 
14esteem.
