| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 | | Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 2310-434 as follows:

| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-434 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2310-434. Governors State University; stroke |
| 9 | | awareness campaign. |
| 10 | | (a) Subject to appropriation, the Department shall partner |
| 11 | | with Governors State University's College of Health and Human |
| 12 | | Services, and any additional partnership that may be |
| 13 | | necessary, in establishing a 12-month outreach and educational |
| 14 | | campaign focused on promoting the following: |
| 15 | | (1) Stroke awareness for select communities determined |
| 16 | | by the Department to be at risk for strokes, particularly |
| 17 | | within Chicago's Southland community. |
| 18 | | (2) Stroke recognition and prevention strategies. |
| 19 | | (3) Access to reliable sources of information about |
| 20 | | strokes. |
| 21 | | (b) An amount of the moneys appropriated to the Department |
| 22 | | under subsection (a) shall be made available to the Governors |
| 23 | | State University's College of Health and Human Services in an |
