AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2705-626 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2705/2705-626 new)

Sec. 2705-626. Studies; surveys; local government construction projects. Unless prohibited by any State or federal statutory confidentiality restrictions, upon request by a unit of local government, the Department shall make available any study or survey completed by the Department that concerns traffic or the environmental impact on road construction projects. Except as otherwise provided, a study or survey conducted by the Department may be substituted for a study or survey required by a unit of local government for construction projects affecting a portion of a State right-of-way.
