AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1899

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1899 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Firearm Owners Identification Card Act is 
5amended by adding Section 8.6 as follows:
 
6    (430 ILCS 65/8.6 new)
7    Sec. 8.6. Unlawful use of a weapon offense diversionary 
8programs. A person charged with an unlawful use of weapons 
9offense under Section 24-1 of the Criminal Code of 2012 or 
10aggravated unlawful use of a weapon offense under Section 
1124-1.6 of the Criminal Code of 2012 and sentenced to the First 
12Time Weapons Offense Program under Section 5-6-3.6 of the 
13Unified Code of Corrections or any other court-ordered 
14diversionary program created by law or by a court of the State 
15of Illinois may submit an application for a Firearm Owner's 
16Identification Card upon receiving a court order demonstrating

1completion of the program. The Illinois State Police shall 
2issue a Firearm Owner's Identification Card to such person 
3upon receiving a court order demonstrating completion of the 
4program, provided the person is otherwise eligible to receive 
5a Firearm Owner's Identification Card. Nothing in this Section 
6shall prohibit the Illinois State Police from denying an 
7application for or revoking a Firearm Owner's Identification 
8Card as provided by law. The State shall dismiss the pending 
9charge upon successful completion of the program.".
