| 1 | AN ACT concerning State government. | ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly: | ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Act is amended | ||||||
| 5 | by adding Section 8.5 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (20 ILCS 2305/8.5 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 8.5. Distribution of ovarian reserve information. | ||||||
| 8 | (a) As used in this Section, "health care professional" | ||||||
| 9 | means a physician licensed under the Medical Practice Act of | ||||||
| 10 | 1987, a podiatrist licensed under the Podiatric Medical | ||||||
| 11 | Practice Act of 1987, an advanced practice registered nurse | ||||||
| 12 | licensed under the Nurse Practice Act, or a physician | ||||||
| 13 | assistant licensed under the Physician Assistant Practice Act | ||||||
| 14 | of 1987. | ||||||
| 15 | (b) The Department of Public Health shall provide the | ||||||
| 16 | following information for health care professionals to | ||||||
| 17 | distribute to women over the age of 25 years and women | ||||||
| 18 | interested in ovarian reserve testing: | ||||||
| 19 | (1) a description of the concept of ovarian reserve; | ||||||
| 20 | (2) an overview of different types of ovarian reserve | ||||||
| 21 | testing; | ||||||
| 22 | (3) information on potential results and resources | ||||||
| 23 | that are available after testing, along with additional | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | information that should be considered by a patient with | ||||||
| 2 | this test. | ||||||
