| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of A. Dale Huston of Springfield, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on January 20, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston, the son of Frederic W. "Ted" and | ||||||
| 6 | Dorothy B. (Jardine) Huston, was born in Gibson City on | ||||||
| 7 | September 5, 1940; he was raised on a livestock farm near | ||||||
| 8 | Gibson City, graduating from the local high school; he earned | ||||||
| 9 | a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from the University of | ||||||
| 10 | Illinois; he also graduated from the Illinois Bankers | ||||||
| 11 | Association School of Banking at Southern Illinois University | ||||||
| 12 | Carbondale, the Graduate School of Banking at the University | ||||||
| 13 | of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Senior Commercial Lenders School | ||||||
| 14 | at the University of Oklahoma Norman; he married Judy A. Dube | ||||||
| 15 | at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas in 1963; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston belonged to the Reserve Officers' | ||||||
| 17 | Training Corps (ROTC) program while attending the University | ||||||
| 18 | of Illinois, where he received his commission as a second | ||||||
| 19 | lieutenant; he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era | ||||||
| 20 | from 1962 to 1964, and he was assigned to the 6th Missile | ||||||
| 21 | Battalion (HAWK), 71st Artillery, Fort Bliss, Texas; he then | ||||||
| 22 | served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1965 to 1969; and | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston worked for the Fox Valley Production | ||||||
| 2 | Credit Association, part of the Farm Credit System, the | ||||||
| 3 | original Illinois National Bank, which became First of America | ||||||
| 4 | Bank, and National City Bank; he retired as executive vice | ||||||
| 5 | president in charge of the Commercial Loan Division and other | ||||||
| 6 | management responsibilities in 2000 after a total of 32 years | ||||||
| 7 | with the bank; he joined the Geneva Mortgage Corporation as an | ||||||
| 8 | associate in 2000, originating commercial real estate loans | ||||||
| 9 | for various investors; he joined Hickory Point Bank as a | ||||||
| 10 | senior relationship manager in 2011, where he served on the | ||||||
| 11 | Loan Committee; after a 50-year career in banking, he retired | ||||||
| 12 | in 2018; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston was a member of Westminster | ||||||
| 14 | Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, an elder, | ||||||
| 15 | and a chairman of the Deacon Committee, the Endowment | ||||||
| 16 | Committee, and the Property Committee; he was a member of | ||||||
| 17 | Illini Country Club, the Springfield South Rotary Club, and | ||||||
| 18 | the Springfield Downtown Rotary Club; he served as president | ||||||
| 19 | and on the board of the Mental Health Centers of Central | ||||||
| 20 | Illinois; he was a board member of the Springfield Chamber of | ||||||
| 21 | Commerce, where he served on the Audit and Economic | ||||||
| 22 | Development Committees and was chairman of the EDC; he also | ||||||
| 23 | served on the boards of the Springfield Jaycees, the Small | ||||||
| 24 | Business Growth Corporation, Downtown Springfield, Inc., the | ||||||
| 25 | Downtown Springfield Heritage Foundation, and the Springfield | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Home Builders Association; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston enjoyed spending time with his | ||||||
| 3 | family, especially during family trips to the beach and when | ||||||
| 4 | he took his grandchildren to Eaton Ranch in Wyoming; his other | ||||||
| 5 | interests included following University of Illinois sports, | ||||||
| 6 | bird hunting, gardening, reading, studying family genealogy, | ||||||
| 7 | overseeing his farmland, and listening to classic country | ||||||
| 8 | music, bagpipes, old hymns, and music from the 1970s and | ||||||
| 9 | 1980s; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 11 | and his brother, Frederic (Bill) W. Huston Jr.; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dale Huston is survived by his wife, Judy Huston; | ||||||
| 13 | his children, Chad (Kara) Huston and Dana Huston; three | ||||||
| 14 | grandchildren; his brother, Dennis (Irja) Huston; and two | ||||||
| 15 | nieces and their families; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | A. Dale Huston and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further | ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||

| 1 | presented to the family of Dale Huston as an expression of our | ||||||
| 2 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
