| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Patrick Cassidy "Pat" Finn, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on December 22, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Pat Finn, the son of Leo and Betty, was born in | ||||||
| 6 | Wilmette on July 31, 1965; he graduated from Marquette | ||||||
| 7 | University; he married Donna Crowley; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Pat Finn studied and performed at Second City in | ||||||
| 9 | Chicago, and he toured with the Second City Touring Company; | ||||||
| 10 | after moving to Los Angeles, he became a founding member of the | ||||||
| 11 | renowned iO West improv troupe, Beer Shark Mice; he also | ||||||
| 12 | served as an adjunct professor and taught Improv for Strategic | ||||||
| 13 | Communication at the University of Colorado, where he coached, | ||||||
| 14 | befriended, and mentored countless students throughout the | ||||||
| 15 | years; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Pat Finn's first big television role was as | ||||||
| 17 | George Wendt's brother on The George Wendt Show; he had | ||||||
| 18 | recurring roles on Murphy Brown, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Ed, and | ||||||
| 19 | My Boys; he became known for his roles as Joe Mayo on Seinfeld | ||||||
| 20 | and Dr. Roger on Friends, and he played the character Bill | ||||||
| 21 | Norwood on the ABC sitcom The Middle from 2010 to 2018; he also | ||||||
| 22 | served as the spokesperson and on-air personality known as | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | "Toyota Pat" for Toyota of Arizona; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Pat Finn was an avid Chicago Bears fan; he was | ||||||
| 3 | knowledgeable on many subjects, including having memorized all | ||||||
| 4 | the state capitols and every college football mascot; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Pat Finn was a positive, loving, and humorous | ||||||
| 6 | person who never met a stranger; he will be remembered as a | ||||||
| 7 | prolific character actor and comedian, a dear friend, and a | ||||||
| 8 | role model to many; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Patrick Finn is survived by his wife, Donna; his | ||||||
| 10 | children, Cassidy, Caitlin, and Ryan; his parents; his | ||||||
| 11 | siblings, Michelle (Henry), Tracy (Judy), Tom (Debbie), Kevin | ||||||
| 12 | (Francie), and Katie (Matt); his siblings-in-law, Danny | ||||||
| 13 | (Rebecca), Debbie (Mark), and Dianne (Mark); his many nieces | ||||||
| 14 | and nephews; his improv family; and his dogs, Addison, Murphy, | ||||||
| 15 | and Wally; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | Patrick Cassidy "Pat" Finn and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 19 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 20 | it further | ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||

| 1 | presented to the family of Pat Finn as an expression of our | ||||||
| 2 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
