| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Nancee Church Vespa of Germantown | ||||||
| 4 | Hills, who passed away on December 23, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Nancee Vespa was born to Harold E. and Helen | ||||||
| 6 | (Roark) Church in Peoria on April 3, 1940; she received a | ||||||
| 7 | Bachelor of Arts in Education from Knox College; she married | ||||||
| 8 | Nicholas E. "Nick" Vespa Jr. on December 27, 1969; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Nancee Vespa worked as a teacher for ten years, | ||||||
| 10 | serving schools in both Wheeling and Pekin; she also co-owned | ||||||
| 11 | and worked at her family's business, the Kelly Seed & Hardware | ||||||
| 12 | Co., for 50 years; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Nancee Vespa was a member of the Peoria Heights | ||||||
| 14 | Congregational Church for more than 50 years; she was also a | ||||||
| 15 | member of the Peoria Chapter of the National Society Daughters | ||||||
| 16 | of the American Revolution, the Pimiteoui Chapter of the | ||||||
| 17 | National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, the National | ||||||
| 18 | Society of Mayflower Descendants, the National Society of | ||||||
| 19 | United States Daughters of 1812, the Peoria Historical | ||||||
| 20 | Society, and the Peoria Garden Club; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Nancee Vespa was known for her kindness, | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | compassion, thoughtfulness, and deep love for her family; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Nancee Vespa was preceded in death by her parents | ||||||
| 3 | and her sister, Patricia (Ralph) Johansen; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Nancee Vespa is survived by her husband of 56 | ||||||
| 5 | years, Nick; her children, Jennifer (Jeff) Ryckaert and | ||||||
| 6 | Nicholas (Renee) Vespa; her brother, Stephen (Kathy) Church; | ||||||
| 7 | and four grandchildren; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Nancee Church Vespa and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 11 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 12 | further | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Nancee Vespa as an expression of our | ||||||
| 15 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
