SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Suzanne M. Ausmus of Springfield, who passed away on November 5, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Roland) Duchaney, was born in Pana on November 1, 1946; she graduated from Pana High School in 1964; she married Jessie Ausmus at Roanoke Southern Baptist Church in Springfield on February 18, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus initially worked as an office coordinator for the Illinois Department of Revenue before serving as a school bus driver for First Student, Inc. for 14 years; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus served as PTO president for multiple schools and as president of the Lanphier High School Football Booster Club; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus loved sports, and she enjoyed attending football and baseball games and cheering on the Denver Broncos and the St. Louis Cardinals; most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Neilie Ausmus; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jessie; her sons, Greg (Angie) Ausmus and Nick (Courtney) Ausmus; three grandchildren; and her cousin, Mary Beth (Ron) Raetz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Suzanne M. Ausmus and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Suzanne Ausmus as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
