| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ryan Roy | ||||||
| 4 | Whitehouse, who passed away on September 24, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse was born in Normal on November | ||||||
| 6 | 14, 1981; he was raised on a farm in Arrowsmith; he graduated | ||||||
| 7 | from Ridgeview High School, where he served as senior class | ||||||
| 8 | president; he received a Bachelor of Science in Politics and | ||||||
| 9 | Government from Illinois State University; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse served as the government and | ||||||
| 11 | public affairs director for the McLean County Chamber of | ||||||
| 12 | Commerce from 2007 to 2013; he then served as the associate | ||||||
| 13 | director of national legislation & policy for the Illinois | ||||||
| 14 | Farm Bureau until June 2019 when he was named the associate | ||||||
| 15 | director of local government & political engagement; he was | ||||||
| 16 | currently serving as director of national legislation for the | ||||||
| 17 | Illinois Farm Bureau, where he developed and implemented | ||||||
| 18 | Allies in Agriculture, a local engagement program with the | ||||||
| 19 | goal of encouraging the network of county Farm Bureaus to | ||||||
| 20 | engage with their local elected and appointed officials; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse was a deacon of his church and a | ||||||
| 22 | member of the Arrowsmith Town Board in his earlier years; he | ||||||

| 1 | served on the board of directors for the Illinois State | ||||||
| 2 | University Central Illinois Young Alumni and on the boards of | ||||||
| 3 | the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC) and | ||||||
| 4 | the St. Jude Bloomington-Normal to Peoria Run; he was | ||||||
| 5 | chairperson of the St. Jude Run/Walk Committee, the | ||||||
| 6 | Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council, and the | ||||||
| 7 | Connect Transit Board of Trustees; he was also a member of the | ||||||
| 8 | Edgar Fellows Program, class of 2023; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse enjoyed running and biking, | ||||||
| 10 | completing several half marathons and triathlons, and working | ||||||
| 11 | alongside his father and siblings on various projects; he was | ||||||
| 12 | known for his rice krispy treats and buffalo chicken dip; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse dedicated his entire life to | ||||||
| 14 | community service and his family, touching the hearts of | ||||||
| 15 | everyone he met; he will be remembered for his leadership, his | ||||||
| 16 | laughter, and the immense love he had for his family and | ||||||
| 17 | friends; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 19 | father, William; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his | ||||||
| 20 | uncle, Charles; and his cousin, Casey; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse is survived by his mother, | ||||||
| 22 | Michelle; his siblings, Mike, Mindy, Wayne, and Craig (Amy); | ||||||

| 1 | his nieces and nephews, Cory, Eve, Matthew, Hunter, Brandt, | ||||||
| 2 | Dawson, and Mikey; his goddaughter, Avery Ummel; his uncle, | ||||||
| 3 | Bill Marc; and many cousins; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 5 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 6 | we mourn the passing of Ryan Roy Whitehouse and extend our | ||||||
| 7 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 8 | and loved him; and be it further | ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Ryan Whitehouse as an expression of | ||||||
| 11 | our deepest sympathy. | ||||||
