HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, October 8, 1895 marked the founding of One Hope United (OHU), the social service non-profit that is headquartered in Chicago but whose good works extend across the United States; and

WHEREAS, OHU strives every day to fulfill its mission of increasing opportunities for children and families by providing quality solutions that enhance lives, communities, and futures; and

WHEREAS, In furtherance of this mission, OHU provides behavioral health, community-based family services, such as foster care and adoption, and early learning and child development services throughout the city; and

WHEREAS, In total, OHU serves over 10,000 children and families each year with its evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, behavior health resources, and residential programs; and

WHEREAS, OHU operates with the vision of "For Every Child and Family, Life Without Limits"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare October 8, 2025 and October 8, 2026 as One Hope United Day in the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we congratulate One Hope United on its 130th anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to One Hope United as a sign of our respect and esteem.
