HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter, chartered in 1965, has upheld the noble ideals of achievement of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in every field of human endeavor for six decades; and

WHEREAS, For 60 years, the members of the Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter have made meaningful contributions to the civic, educational, and cultural enrichment of the South Suburban Chicago area and beyond; and

WHEREAS, The men of the Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service, mentorship, scholarship, and brotherhood through impactful programs, including Guide Right, Kappa League, and Room to Read; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter has consistently cultivated leadership and uplifted young men and communities of color, furthering the mission and legacy of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., a historic African American Greek-letter organization; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter will host its 60th anniversary celebration at Chateau Del Mar in Hickory Hills on October 25, 2025, and the event will serve as a moment to honor past achievements and to inspire future impact; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. on achieving its 60th anniversary, and we extend our best wishes for continued success and service in the years to come.
